The world's longest flight spent more than two months in the air (back in 1959)

In 1959 two lunatics in a small single-engine Cessna took off from Las Vegas with the goal of setting the world's longest flight record. With more than 64 days in the air they broke it, and then some... A full 15 days longer than anyone had to that point, or even today with modern autonomous, unmanned flights. 

It's a remarkable story about ingenuity, the perseverance of people, and overcoming hardships that's well worth the read. And, if you fly through the Las Vegas Airport you can see this plane and an accompanying ground vehicle in Terminal 1 near the baggage carousels.
