In celebration of International E-Waste Day 2025 (October 14), The Great Cable Challenge has returned - inviting individuals, schools, and businesses to take action against one of the most overlooked forms of electronic waste: cables. From tangled drawers to forgotten tech bins, unused cords are everywhere—and they’re adding up.
This initiative shines a spotlight on the hidden environmental cost of discarded cables. While small in size, they contain valuable metals and plastics that, when improperly disposed of, contribute to pollution and resource loss. The challenge encourages participants to collect, sort, and responsibly recycle these items, turning clutter into climate action.
Beyond cleanup, the campaign is about education. It raises awareness of the broader e-waste crisis and empowers people to rethink how they consume and dispose of electronics. By engaging communities in hands-on sustainability, it transforms awareness into impact.
The Great Cable Challenge is a perfect example of Building Back Ever Better: simple actions, collective effort, and a commitment to a cleaner, more circular future. Every cable recycled is a step toward reducing waste and protecting our planet.
