'Operation Chill' Rewards Haddon Kids For Good Deeds, Being Safe

The Haddon Township Police Department is giving free Slurpees to children observed doing good deeds or showing positive behavior. The department announced Tuesday it is once again teaming up with 7-Eleven for "Operation Chill" — which is now in its 25th year.

Haddon officers will be on the lookout for kids around town who are wearing a helmet when riding their bicycles, riding safely and single file on the side of the roadway, wearing their seatbelt, safely crossing the streets in crosswalks and many other good deeds or positive behaviors.

Founded in Philadelphia in 1995 with a goal to give law enforcement officers a positive way to interact with children and teens, 7‑Eleven's long standing community outreach program has grown to reach more than 1,100 local law enforcement agencies across the country.
