The Government announced a €40 million investment, through European funds, for the fleet of public transport vehicles to be changed into electric power. Solar panels were installed on two buses as part of the pilot project. Through the solar panels, vehicles will be producing less carbon dioxide emissions and decrease diesel consumption by almost 10 per cent annually.
