Artificial Intelligence may be the key solution to enable vehicle drivers to be less frustrated while having to wait at traffic lights. Transport Malta and the Authority for Digital Innovation are collaborating in a new pilot project so that traffic lights do not continue to change according to pre-timing but according to the amount of traffic in the zone. This new system will alter traffic trends particularly at times of the day when heavy traffic is anticipated. The measure will not only reduce waiting time but there will also be less pollution.
