Canada Opening Borders to Fully Vaccinated Americans in August

It has been a long time coming! But it was worth the wait. Canada is opening its borders to fully vaccinated American citizens and permanent residents starting on August 9. On September 7, the border is expected to be open to international travelers. Upon opening, fully vaccinated eligible travelers will no longer need to quarantine when arriving in Canada. This is all thanks to Canada's rising vaccination rates and declining COVID-19 cases. This is a positive step for both Canada and the United States economies and a sign that the pandemic might be winding down.

“Canadians have worked hard and sacrificed for each other, and because of that work, we can take these next steps safely,” Patty Hajdu, Minister of Health, explained.
