4 Tips to Increase Productivity

I am always looking for ways to increase productivity, especially as my productivity is impacted by my sight loss. These 4 tips from HBR are intriguing:

  1. Batch your meetings
  2. Avoid using the mouse
  3. Nudge your way to better behaviour
  4. Read your work outloud

Over the past few years, I have been improving my use of keyboard shortcuts to reduce the impact of trying to chase the cursor around the screen. There are hundreds of keyboard shortcuts, some are common across applications, and some are application specific. I can honestly say that keyboard shortcuts do increase productivity, but you must be patient in learning them. I tend to learn 2 or three at a time and let them become muscle memory before learning others.

I hope these tips help you become Ever Better.

A study by Brainscape found that most people lose an average of two seconds per minute of work by using their mouse instead of keyboard shortcuts. That’s eight days a year!
