A positive perspective

In a very refreshing article amid all the negative news and alarms we're exposed to throughout the day, Bill Gates reminds us that we're still better off today than at any time in history. Access to education is higher; healthcare is improving; people are living longer; information is at our fingertips; new efficiencies help us get through the day.

Yes, there are warning signs that remind us we still need to improve. But comparing our lives today versus those of generations long ago, we're far more advanced and I'd argue far better off. It's easy to say (based on the daily news) that "we're not leaving a great world for our children," but I think future generations will continue to be even better off than we are today.

The future is bright, folks. I'm positive of it.

“I’m still very optimistic that it’d be much better to be born 20 years from now, 40 years from now, 60 years from now than any time in the past,”
