Accessibility Laws Around the World

Digital accessibility is key to providing an inclusive world for all. Globally, governments are legislating to drive increased accessibility. 

The EU is bringing in the European Accessibility Act which will impact kiosks and self-service devices from 2025. Ensuring disabled people have equal access to services.

While Global Accessibility Awareness Day is on the 3rd of May, and a few months away, Lainey Feingold is continuously updating the Digital Accessibility Laws Around the Globe website.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day (the 3rd Thursday of May) is a good day to become aware of laws around the globe that impact digital accessibility. Laws related to digital accessibility support and protect the civil rights of people with disabilities. Core components of life in the 21st century exist in the digital space, and without accessibility, basic human rights are diminished or completely denied.
