Light-based wireless comms ("Li-Fi") is 100X faster than traditional Wi-Fi

Still waiting on that dial-up modem to connect to the phone line? Still getting "buffering" messages when trying to watch videos on YouTube?

Well, you're in for a Bandwidth Bonanza with Li-Fi, the innovative technology that enables wireless communications via visible light.

It's not quite ready for prime-time just yet and it's not going to replace your 5G phone or RF frequency Wi-Fi connections for daily use, but it's promising that in certain locations and conditions the technology is showing excellent promise.

Li-Fi is said to deliver “faster, more reliable wireless communications with unparalleled security compared to conventional technologies such as Wi-Fi and 5G.” Now that the IEEE 802.11bb Li-Fi standard has been released, it is hoped that interoperability between Li-Fi systems with the successful Wi-Fi will be fully addressed.
