Let's Follow Finland's Footsteps

We know Finland is annually ranked as the “world's happiest country” for a variety of both physical and psychological reasons. But another area they are leading the way is in their sustainability efforts to keep their environment pristine despite the inevitable urbanization and economic development.

I like that Finland's “Green City Plan” has specific targets they've set for themselves. What we'll need to keep an eye on is the ACTION taken that leads to these important targets.

Which other world leaders will be watching, and once progress is observed who will implement some of these actions in their own countries/regions.

The leaders of Finland’s ten largest cities have committed to defined targets to halt the loss of biodiversity. The commitment comes at a crucial time when urbanization and increasingly dense development threaten local ecosystems.
