A new fungal battery can be tossed in the compost to biodegrade

Batteries are everywhere in so many devices and only growing ever more ubiquitous. Imagine if there were a way that batteries could be used to power our lives and yet be more “natural" and even biodegradable, beneficial to us and the earth?  Can you even imagine the whole host of new applications?
