Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has revealed a new advancement in battery and charging technology that could significantly shorten EV charging times.

The company introduced its second-generation Blade Battery along with a new “Flash Charging” system, which it says can charge compatible vehicles from 10% to 70% in roughly five minutes and reach about 97% in around nine minutes.

BYD and Tesla are going head to head in advancing battery technology in the EV market, and honestly it's only going to benefit the buyer in the long run.
