Grand Canyon river rafting guide Kelsey Pfendler, who set out to become the first American woman to row solo across the mid-Pacific, has completed a record-breaking journey from California to Hawaii. After nearly a month and a half at sea, she arrived in Honolulu on Friday night aboard her 21-foot boat, Lily, where she was greeted by hundreds of supporters, local media reported. Pfendler began her voyage in May from Monterey with the goal of becoming the first American woman—and the youngest and fastest woman—to complete the more than 2,400-mile solo crossing, documenting her experience throughout for hundreds of thousands of followers on social media as she shared the challenges, triumphs, and daily life of her ocean journey.
