Relay for America: a 3,000-mile run for Veterans

Relay for America is an event to recognize veterans and service members who don't always get the recognition they deserve, co-founded by Joe Nail and Wyatt Moss. With a team of more than 250 runners, people took turns carrying an American Flag from the Golden Gate Bridge, all the way across the country to Washington D.C., with every mile being dedicated to a veteran. “Both organizers said the run demonstrates how Americans can unite across political differences through a shared mission.

Relay for America began on Flag Day, June 14, and covered more than 3,000 miles through 15 states before ending near the U.S. Capitol. Every mile of the run was dedicated to a veteran.
