A few weeks ago, I visited the Tate Modern to see the popular Frida Kahlo exhibition.

While Frida's work was fascinating – and one of my 10 year old’s favourite artists – I was also completely blown away by the textile art of Pacita Abad. The scale, colour and craftsmanship were extraordinary. Check it out if you get a chance!

As I stood there taking it in, I found myself reflecting on how important experiences like this feel in an increasingly tech-enabled world.

We spend a lot of time talking about what technology can do. But great art in its many forms reminds us what people can do.

Every artwork represents imagination, huge talent, dedication and ability to create something new and unique. It is a reminder that behind every innovation, every breakthrough and every transformation is human creativity.

Interestingly, a 2025 Columbia University study suggests that as AI-generated art becomes more common, people may actually place even greater value on human-made art because they associate it with creativity, skill and human expression. 

Leaving the gallery, I felt inspired not just by the artists, but by the incredible potential of people.

Sometimes, standing in front of a beautiful piece of art or architecture is the perfect reminder of just how amazing humans are.
