On Friday June 11, Intertek Sofia office organized a sustainable initiative to emphasize the need of being environmentally conscious so when we use plastic items. The event was led by Milena Atanasova, IRCA Training Operations Manager, who raised to participants the global issue that two thirds of plastic products that are thrown away are not actually recycled and that out of 8.3 billion tons of plastics produced so far, only 9% were recycled.

After over one year and a half of social distance due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Intertek colleagues joint together again to clean up a surrounding area of Sofia office. Milena said: “It was amazing to see the passion, dedication and commitment from the whole Intertek team for this initiative as well as their excitement for the next BBEB event. I am proud working with these people and absolutely sure that together we can make a real change for a good cause”. Vyara Stankova, BA Deputy General Manager, mentioned that “A small step in the right direction sometimes is the beginning of a journey to a big change for good.  We made a step to building up in a different way a better tomorrow for our community as we always do – together, as a Team and with a smile. It was great to be with all colleagues and hear their suggestions of next individual and team BBEB initiatives”.
