We've had electric cars around for years now and the popularity of them is growing by the day. But what about motorcycles? While it may be a smaller market here in North America than other types of vehicles it is still an important category to consider when attempting to make the world's transportation system ecofriendly. In other countries such as Kenya motorcycles are much more popular with over 250,000 motorcycles registered to be on the road. Trends also suggest that the market is consistently growing year over year since 2016.

A company named "Roam" has launched a new electric motorcycle named the "Roam Air". This motorcycle is designed to be competitive with typical gas operated motorcycles when compared in top speed, capacity and range. Not only is the Roam Air competitive performance wise but it is a similar price and has a 70% lower running cost. While charging stations aren't as common as gas stations it isn't a problem when the Roam Air can be plugged into a normal outlet in your home.

The Roam Air was designed for the African market, however, over time if it has a successful rollout this will bridge the gap for those who want to drive a motorcycle and those who want to be ecofriendly at the same time. Despite being a niche market in the world creating various types of ecofriendly transportation will enable us to move forward to a greener future.
