Here's a way you can tell when your phone's microphone or camera (or both) is actively listening/watching.

When an orange dot appears in the top-right corner of your screen – right above your cellular bars – it means an app is using your iPhone's microphone... When a green dot appears this means an app is using either the camera or the camera with the microphone on your phone.
