As a child, our home burned down and the Red Cross supplied us with essentials (blankets, clothing, etc.). Of course way back in the day (early 70s) the blankets were made of scratchy wool, but who could complain. Still to this day, I always donate my gently used clothing to the Red Cross.
My other textiles, well that's a different story until now.
