A study by the RNIB has highlighted that over 50% of blind people have less than 30 minutes of activity per week, compared to 27% of the general population. In many cases, this is down to the lack of accessible sports, transport, and venues.

Most gym equipment is not accessible - the controls cannot be operated without vision, making exercising at a gym difficult. Most people find the smallest excuse to skip the gym, imagine having to face not being able to set the equipment up and being unsure if the support you need is there.

Many sports have alternatives that can be played by blind people, but there is a lack of clubs and opportunities to try these out.

If you are part of a sports club, do you do anything to make it inclusive to people with sight loss? If not, what could you do to welcome others into the club?
