Intertek-PSI was honoured to volunteer and participate in the annual "Kids in Construction" Programme at Mount Saint Vincent Home, in Denver, Colorado. The event, in collaboration with SCL Health - Intermountain Health, aims to educate and inspire children through hands-on learning about various aspects of the construction industry, from engineering to design and construction trades.

During the event, Intertek-PSI set up three interactive stations focusing on geotechnical subsurface investigations, construction materials testing, and environmental testing and consulting. Intertek's dedicated engineers, Kyle Duitsman, P.E., Hannah Tawfik, P.E., Larry Halweg, P.E., and Irmarie Aguiar, E.I., volunteered their time to lead these stations, delivering engaging presentations with visual aids and hands-on activities tailored for young learners.

Danny Lamp-Bernal, Denver Business Development Manager at Intertek-PSI, expressed:

“It was a rewarding experience for me to help facilitate this event. I'm incredibly proud of the team and the engineers who volunteered their time and expertise to make a positive impact in our community and invest in the future of these children.”

Special thanks to Michael Hardin and Denise Waldo from SCL Health - Intermountain Health, DeeDrya Barker, and the staff at Mount Saint Vincent for their collaboration and support in organising this enriching experience.

Intertek is committed to inspiring future generations through initiatives like these, fostering a passion for learning and innovation in STEM disciplines and careers.
