Hourly movement breaks can help counter effects of prolonged sitting.

Micro-walks. Big Results.

In a world where many of us sit continuously for way to long a new research study shows that taking just five minutes to get up and move about throughout the day has shown to have a tremendous impact on mood and fatigue while not appearing to impact work performance.

Want to get your micro walk in?

You could…

  • Walk a less direct route to your next meeting
  • Take a phone call while walking
  • Park your car at the far end of the lot
  • Replace an email to a co-worker with a face-to-fact visit
Taking a five-minute walk every hour may help improve mood and reduce fatigue for people who spend much of their day sitting, according to a new study.
