Having just returned from holiday in Greece, this story really caught my attention.

Using thermal imaging and artificial intelligence, the satellites can detect tiny fires from space, distinguish genuine wildfires from false alarms such as hot rooftops or solar panels, and send firefighters precise information within minutes.

It's a brilliant example of AI solving a real-world problem. Earlier detection means faster response times, giving firefighters a better chance of stopping small fires before they become devastating wildfires.

For me, this is innovation at its best, not replacing people, but giving them better tools to protect lives, communities and the beautiful places we all want to preserve. Having just seen Greece at its very best, it's reassuring to know the country is also leading the way in protecting its future.
