Walking briskly may lower risk of death in some adults: Study

An interesting article and study on the impact of not only walking but walking at a fairly brisk pace.

Yes, more steps are generally better but just as important is the quality versus merely the quantity. Imagine the benefits of walking at a brisk pace a few times a day for just a few minutes each time. We may not always have a large block to devote to getting up and moving but more than likely we already walking in short increments; from the car to the office, walking to catch that train, from one meeting to another across the office, or even just a few minutes at lunch. What a perfect time to pick up the pace and reap the benefits.

If you can't increase how much you walk, increasing how briskly you walk, even for short bursts, may offer a comparable benefit.
