Think of the slow food and slow fashion movements. Now Google may be seeding the slow drive movement when its Maps navigator to default to the greenest route, meaning the one with the lowest carbon emissions. If the time difference is significant, it will give you the option to choose faster or greener.

Faster isn’t always better. At least not for the planet; often not for people either.
