Recycled Plastic Manhole covers saving the streets of Lebanon

With stolen metal manhole covers causing hazards on the streets of Lebanon, one gentleman took it upon himself to solve this problem. The engineer was able to manufacture manhole covers from plastic waste, fit for human and road traffic. What a way to Build Back Ever Better -  keeping streets safe in a cost effective and environmentally friendly way.

Using recycled single-use plastic, the industrial and environmental engineer applies a technique known as extrusion to melt the raw material and form it into the required shape. In this case, Mr Abi Chaker repurposes plastic waste to make drain covers to replace stolen ones.
