Driverless buses project launched

Driverless buses project launched – a collaboration enterprise involving Transport Malta with the University of Malta and Malta Public Transport on a new and innovative research project for autonomous buses. The Minister stated that as a result of totally electric-powered buses equipped with an integrated system of artificial intelligence, there will be more road safety as the technology eliminates the possibility of human error, which causes over 90% of traffic accidents. Besides, the totally electric-powered bus engines will eliminate emissions, parking issues and acoustic pollution from areas like open spaces, the University campus, and hospitals.
