Producing drinking water from air!

This technology can help countries with water scarcity have sustainable access to drinking water.

The machines will be placed across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, althought it has already been used to support villages in Africa and hospitals in the Gaza Strip.

  • 785 million people lack access to clean water. That’s one in 10 people on the planet.
  • Women and girls spend an estimated 200 million hours hauling water every day.
  • The average woman in rural Africa walks 6 kilometers every day to haul 40 pounds of water.
  • Every day, more than 800 children under 5 die from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and unsafe hygiene practices.
  • 2 billion people live without access to adequate sanitation.
Watergen’s technology extracts water from the air using a heat-exchange technology that produces water in a significantly short time. Their technique requires only 20 per cent of humidity, which explains its compatibility with desert-like conditions such as the UAE.
