Jack Annall, a widowed RAF veteran from West Yorkshire, has received over 700 birthday cards from strangers to celebrate his 100th birthday. It was arranged by the manager of Jack's care home who realised that Jack's daughter would be unable to visit her father because she lives in Australia under travel restrictions. To make up for it, manager Vicky Gidgin put out an appeal for cards to be sent to the centenarian in time for his big day on Thursday 19th August. What she was not expecting was for over 700 cards to come tumbling through the care home's letter box in Halifax.
