In the coming weeks the main squares of various localities around Malta and Gozo will only be accessed by bicycle or by walking there as they will be closed to vehicles. This is thanks to the project Slow Streets, in which ten Local Councils have access to an investment to make their roads more accessible to residents while decreasing traffic pollution. Slow Streets project is part of a larger project to enable greater accessibility to a number of places which will create more space for pedestrians and create greater potential for commercial entities. This project will strengthen mobility, greater accessibility and generate a better quality of life for residents.
