A University three-year research has discovered a method so that batteries used in electric cars will last longer if they are swiftly charged.
The project was led by Dr Robert Camilleri who will propose the discovery to battery manufacturing companies so that it is used at a commercial level.
“Fast charging is being felt in electric vehicles. Now, fast charging provides great currents inside the battery and it heats up….therefore there is the need that the battery is kept cool because otherwise it greatly degenerates itself more quickly or there might also be some safety concerns”.
