To ring in the Lunar New Year cheer, Intertek Hong Kong celebrated with our customers this Chinese New Year with our charity hampers.

Welcoming the arrival of a new year full of happiness and prosperity, Intertek joined hands with seven local charities to support a good cause and presented eight goodies in our unique CNY hampers. The goodies included a traditional cloth tiger, a house plant, a coaster, some fair-trade snacks, a file, a magnet, some floral tea and a bottle of essential oil. Last but not least, the hamper came with personalized, engraved keychains.

These charities strive to promote mental health, employment opportunities for senior citizens and young talents with special needs and support under-privileged families.

They are:

• Blossom Minds – a non-government organisation that offers employment opportunities for young adults with special needs and special educational needs ‘SENs’ to work in the mainstream workforce.
• CareER – a charitable organization that provides job-matching services and a peer support platform to higher educated persons with disabilities and special educational needs, enabling them to contribute to the community.
• Crafty Charity Shop – a group of volunteers who raise funds for other partner charities by crafting and teaching others to craft hand-made items.
• Feeding Hong Kong – a food bank that aims to fight hunger and reduce food waste in Hong Kong by rescuing surplus food from retailers, distributors and manufacturers and redistributing it to people in need.
• Gingko House – a social enterprise that advocates senior employment by hiring retired senior citizens and matching their conditions to different job opportunities.
• Hong Kong Seeing Eye Dog Services – a non-profit organization that aims to the promote professional seeing eye dog services in Hong Kong, including training and breeding of seeing eye dogs.
• iBakery – a social enterprise under the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals. They train and hire people with disabilities, while producing safe and quality bakery products.

Intertek would like to share the heartfelt new year blessings with our clients and also our message - today, let us all do our part in giving back to our community, and together, we can make a better tomorrow. Especially in these challenging times, we have all the more reason to be thankful for what we have. We hope that seeing the meaningful work through these lovely hampers will inspire our customers, just like they have inspired us.
