In 2010, the main character in history - a hawk eagle (along with another bird of the same species) was captured at the Vidin-Ferry checkpoint. Thus, the attempt to be taken out of the country with false documents was prevented. The eagle is housed in the Wildlife Rescue Center of the Green Balkans, where he and his brother are waiting 10 years to decide their fate.

During all this time, he went through various instances of the judicial system in our country. In 2019, the two birds were finally released both documentary and physical. They fly into the skies of Spain, and environmentalists from GREFA choose the island of Mallorca as the second home of our hero, as part of the program to support the species in the country. Spanish conservationists christen the eagle Ivo. While Ivo lives on the island, he sets up a small, own territory. And so until last summer, when a female bird of the same species began to frequently visit its territory, and since October it has settled permanently within its borders.

Here is the saga of the happiest outcome - Spanish conservationists expect the birds to breed this spring.

The case inspires strength and confidence that even if the situation sometimes seems hopeless, the effort worth it. And miracles happen, we just need a little help.

This ten-year odyssey is indicative of what teamwork means, but also of how things should not happen at the judicial level, and how the fate of living beings can only depend on the perseverance of a handful of people.
