Following the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, India has taken the initiative to send aid and relief materials to support the affected people. Operation Dost, a mission launched by the Indian government, sent six planes loaded with supplies, medical equipment, and rescue personnel to the affected areas. The aid includes 10,000 blankets, 10,000 tents, 50,000 food packets, and other essential materials. The rescue personnel will work with the local authorities to assist the victims and help them recover from the disaster. India’s gesture of support during this difficult time highlights the importance of humanitarian aid and international cooperation in times of crisis.
"The army field hospital in Iskenderun, Hatay, Turkiye has started functioning with running Medical, Surgical & Emergency Wards; X-Ray Lab & Medical Store," external affairs minister S Jaishankar tweeted on Thursday. An Additional Directorate General of Public Information team will work 24 x 7 to provide relief to the affected people, according to Jaishankar. Wednesday's MHA statement said, "India has been able to send more than 250 personnel, specialised equipment and other relief material amounting to more than 135 tons to Türkey on 5 C-17 IAF aircraft. As regards Syria, more than 6 tons of emergency relief assistance has been delivered through a C130J IAF aircraft to Damascus."
