Amazon and Cochlear have announced a new partnership that will allow users of compatible hearing aids to stream audio directly from their Fire TV devices. This feature will enable people with hearing loss to enjoy their favorite shows and movies without disturbing others or compromising on sound quality. Users will be able to adjust the volume and balance of the audio from their hearing aids using the Alexa app or voice commands. The partnership is part of Amazon's commitment to make its products and services more accessible and inclusive for everyone.

Cochlear is a global leader in implantable hearing solutions that help people with moderate to profound hearing loss. The company has been working with Amazon since 2017 to integrate its technology with Alexa and other smart devices. The new feature will be available for users of Cochlear's Nucleus 7 Sound Processor and Kanso 2 Sound Processor in the US, UK, Germany, India, Japan, and Australia later this year.

I am always encouraged by the collaboration of assistive technology companies with mainstream manufacturers. I hope this continues and a standard is developed that all manufacturers can adobt, providing improves accessibility regardless of brand.
