Saudi Arabia has become the world leader in renewable energy production growth indicators since the launch of the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) two years ago. The SGI has led to 17 renewable energy projects with a capacity of 13.76 gigawatts and the establishment of the largest clean hydrogen production center in the world, with plans to produce 250,000 tons per year by 2060. The country has moved up 10 spots in the overall ranking for the Green Future Index and ranked first in the Arab world for the CO2 emission growth indicator.
