Discovery of "major storage capacity in water-based batteries"

As the world continues to ramp-up usage of Lithium-Ion batteries, new challenges arise including:

  • battery fires from poor quality and uncertified products
  • supply chain issues from remote areas of the world mining precious metals
  • environmental issues stemming from mining

This advancement in water-based energy storage eliminates many of these concerns. It's certainly worth pursuing to see if it's a viable, safer, more sustainable solution.

There would be no battery fires anymore because it’s water-based. In the future, if materials shortages are projected, the price of lithium-ion batteries will go way up. If we have this alternative battery, we can turn to this chemistry, where the supply is much more stable because we can manufacture them here in the United States and materials to make them are here.
