For any of my co-workers reading this, let's get this straight... I love you and really enjoy working with you all! But I'm not so sure I would love living next to you as well. Sometimes it's nice to leave work behind, and enjoy time outside the office.

But housing is becoming such an issue and, for many workers, unaffordable. So some companies are looking into developing their own communities and building homes for their employees to rent - or own! And they are often selling at "below market" prices to help workers own a part of the American dream of home ownership.

Yes, there are some restrictions that come with owning a company home. But they don't seem too onerous. 

First, buyers must live in the home and not rent it out. If they want to sell within the first three years, the company has the option to buy it back at the original sales price. That's to keep people from trying to flip these homes in short order.
