DEIB - What does the B Stand For?

I recently came across a post on LinkedIn by Becca Lory Hector that shared the term DEIB. I am familiar with DEI which stands for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, but I had no idea what the B stood for. The B is Belonging, this makes so much sense to me and helps to round off what DEI is all about.

I recommend you read the post on LinkedIn in full, to hear Becca's perspective. I have§ however included the Venn Diagram here to help visualise that belonging is at the intersection of DEI.

A dark green background with a light green Venn Diagram with 3 overlapping circles: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. In the intersections, it reads: workplace wellness, accommodations, and accessibility. The word "belonging" reads in the center of diagram.

As a DEIB-Disability consultant, the first question I inevitably get asked is "What's the B for?" And every time it happens, I get excited all over again to explain what Belonging has to do with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
