RNIB Launch Be Helpful Guide

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) has released a guide on supporting and assisting individuals who are blind or have low vision. The campaign's video emphasizes the numerous daily challenges faced by those with vision impairments, ranging from obstacles on pavements to well-intentioned but insufficient assistance. The guide provides advice on recognizing individuals with vision loss and inquiring about the type of assistance they require.

This guide is extremely helpful, and I often wish that many individuals I encounter in public had read these instructions. The guidance instills confidence and spares me the need to explain extensively.

Getting around shouldn't be difficult But it often is, because society isn’t designed for people with sight loss. From knowing which bus is coming, to avoiding obstacles on the pavement, everyday life can be difficult to navigate.
