The world is chasing after “carbon neutral” energy production and usage, but the real long-play here is “carbon negative” – meaning the process of creating energy only TAKES carbon out of the atmosphere and doesn't create any in the process.

I know, I know… one step at a time. First we need to slow down the damage we're doing to the atmosphere before we leap-frog technologies to actually take a bite out of that damage and reverse it. But if this technology of creating energy out of the natural process of photosynthesis actually works (and can be scaled to mass production) that's one heck of a solution.
