Few things are as critical in this “Information Age” as data centers and electricity. Combined they power the digital revolution.
It's great to see large industry leaders such as Google turning to geothermal energy for clean, carbon-free energy to power their massive new data center in Nevada.
And with Google's “plans to spend at least $4 billion to build or expand data centers in Indiana, Missouri and Virginia” as well, hopefully they are able to replicate this everywhere they wish to expand in the future.
The agreement comes as the world's biggest technology companies hunt for massive amounts of electricity to power their rapidly-expanding data centers, or giant computer warehouses, needed to support technologies like generative artificial intelligence and cloud computing. The partnership advances Google towards its goal of running on entirely clean energy by 2030.
