NASA Spacecraft to study Jupiter Moon's underground ocean cleared for October Launch

The great beyond…life outside of Earth. That is one of the great debates, can life be sustainable outside of Earth's atmosphere? NASA is about to embark on a mission sending the Europa Clipper, “the biggest spacecraft ever built by NASA to investigate another planet”, to the moon Europa orbiting the planet Jupiter. It will take six years for the Europa Clipper to reach Jupiter's moon and once there will begin orbiting the gas giant every three weeks with dozens of flybys scheduled.

NASA rushed to conduct tests to verify that the electronic parts could survive the $5 billion mission to determine whether the suspected ocean beneath Europa’s icy crust might be suitable for life.
