Whole Foods' sustainability efforts place strong emphasis on protecting pollinators like bees and butterflies, which are crucial to the food system. The company recently unveiled a new pollinator health policy aimed at reducing pesticide use and promoting biodiversity. By 2025, all produce and floral suppliers will be required to implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) systems, prioritizing biological pest control over chemical methods. Additionally, the policy bans harmful neonicotinoid pesticides in potted plants, helping safeguard pollinators such as honeybees, butterflies, and bumblebees.
