Whether you love them or hate them, Crocs is working toward reducing the carbon footprint of its iconic clogs through several innovative strategies. The company has incorporated 25% bio-circular content into its Croslite™ material, which makes up over 80% of the materials used in its shoes. This bio-circular approach involves repurposing waste materials, such as plant-based byproducts like cooking oil, to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. They have also launched a takeback program, "Old Crocs. New Life," encouraging customers to return old shoes for recycling and reuse, further supporting the company's circularity efforts
The carbon footprint of each pair of its clogs has dropped by 6.1 percent over 2021, according to the Broomfield, Colorado-based brand.
