On-site food composters - how can you help reducing food waste?

We all know the guilty conscience that we feel when a food product spoils in our fridge and we have not managed to eat it on time.

In Malaysia, a specific sort of food composter is now in use that comes with a specially formulated composting enzyme that converts all food organic waste into compost. Waste types can range from garden waste, over raw kitchen scraps, cooked food waste to compostable food packaging.

The beauty about this innovation is that the portable composters can be used at home, food service outlets or at event sites and contain a biotech filtration system to neutralize foul odours. Can this innovation help us preventing food waste from ending up in landfills?

Read more about this and other innovations on how to fight food waste.

We all waste food. Mealtime leftovers, fresh produce gone bad and fields of damaged crops: almost one-third of all food produced is uneaten.
