In an inspiring move, Disney and Netflix are swapping out diesel for cleaner energy on their production sets, proving that even entertainment powerhouses can lead the charge in environmental responsibility. These two entertainment giants are rolling out innovative solutions like battery-powered generators and solar energy to cut down emissions, demonstrating that sustainability and showbiz can go hand in hand.

The moves complement the Clean Mobile Power Initiative, which the two are co-funding through spring. The program is testing seven battery energy storage systems, two hydrogen-power generators, and a hybrid system combining solar, batteries, green hydrogen, an optional wind turbine and on-site water generation. They’re being used to support everything from dressing room trailers to cameras and lighting.

Not only do these changes help reduce the movie-making industry's carbon footprint, but they also ensure a greener future for Hollywood's biggest productions.
