Sam Altman is crowdsourcing ideas to supercharge OpenAI in 2025. On Christmas Eve, the CEO took to X, asking followers, "What would you like OpenAI to build/fix in 2025?" This comes after a turbulent year, including legal battles with Elon Musk, but also a historic $6.6 billion funding round, boosting OpenAI's valuation to $157 billion.
So far, Altman has shown interest in three main ideas:
Family Accounts: One follower suggested family-friendly accounts with safety features for kids. Altman quickly jumped on the idea, calling it "good." Currently, ChatGPT isn’t designed for kids under 13, but this could be a game-changer for safe family use.
Voice Chat Improvements: Users are asking for smoother voice interactions with ChatGPT. One follower pointed out that the voice feature currently interrupts users if they pause for just a moment. Altman acknowledged the issue, hinting at improvements.
Better Video Generation: Users want OpenAI's text-to-video model, Sora, to level up. Launched in December, Sora lets users create videos from text prompts, but it's still in its early days. The feedback suggests it could use fine-tuning to avoid bugs and enhance creative flexibility.
After a challenging year, Altman is seeking ideas to push OpenAI even further in 2025 and the future looks exciting!
