India is embarking on exciting new projects backed by a generous €9 million ($9 million) grant from the EU, aimed at fostering inclusive growth, resource efficiency, and sustainability in the textile industry. These initiatives are not just about business; they’re also about enhancing livelihoods and empowering women economically.
The collaborative efforts will take place across nine vibrant Indian states: Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Haryana.
With a focus on a delightful range of products—like natural dyes, bamboo crafts, handlooms, shawls, and traditional handicrafts—these initiatives plan to improve production processes, branding strategies, and market access. It’s all about weaving a brighter future for the textile sector!
This collaboration continues the EU’s partnership with India on sustainability and circular economy principles and supports the Ministry of Textiles’ “Sustainable Bharat Mission for Textiles.”
